Announces State Senate Candidacy
(Urbandale, IA) - -
Urbandale Mayor, Brad Zaun, announced today he will run for Senate District
32. Zaun, a Republican, will focus his campaign on creating good paying
jobs and ensuring the first class education we enjoy in Iowa remains a top
priority.
“Urbandale has one of the
lowest property tax rates in the metro-area and is experiencing explosive
growth, due to a favorable tax climate. My experience in creating jobs is
exactly what is needed at the statehouse,” said Mayor Zaun.
Senate Majority Leader,
Stewart Iverson, Jr. is impressed with Brad’s energy and commitment to
education. “Brad is a hard-worker and committed to moving Iowa forward,
he’ll be a great Senator and will serve his constituents well,” said Senator
Iverson.
“Education will always
remain a top priority for me. If we want to attract the best jobs, we need
the best workforce. My goal will be to have good-paying jobs in this state
so our children don’t have to leave to make a decent living,” remarked Zaun.
Brad Zaun is the owner of
Zaun’s Hardware, and has served as Mayor of Urbandale since 1998, he’s a
former city councilman and past president of the Urbandale Chamber of
Commerce. He has three children ages 12, 15 and 16.
“As a small business
owner, I know it’s not always easy to run a successful business. To
increase revenue we need to create a better business environment for
companies that wish to expand in or locate to Iowa, we can do this by less
regulation, less government and lower taxes,” concluded Zaun.
Senate District 32 is
comprised of Urbandale, within Polk County, and the northwest area of Des
Moines known as Beaverdale. |
